MNP moves your existing Hong Kong number (prepaid or another carrier) into a new postpaid plan — the number stays the same. MNP is often cheaper than a new number and usually waives the $18 admin fee.
Your line works during the process; there’s a brief cut of a few minutes at cut-over. You don’t cancel the old line yourself.
